Bhaktapur Durbar Square

It was the place from where the malla kings of Bhaktapur ruled over there kingdom. It is enlisted in world hearitage in 1979 AD.  it is the plaza in front of the royal palace of the old Bhaktapur Kingdom, 1400m above sea level.It has 55 windows. the heritage like 55 widows- palace , statue of Bhupatindra Malla , national art Galarry ,goldengate , nyatapola etc are located here.55 windows palace was built in the 15th century, the 55 Window Palace is the dominating architectural structure in the square.The main entrance to the palace, the golden gate is a mast. The Lion's Gate is the magnificent and beautiful gate which was produced from artisans whose hands were cut off after finishing touch to them by the envious Bhadgoun king so that no more of such masterpiece would be produced again.
